Calabria updates tourism port Master Plan to boost regional economy

The Calabria Regional Government has approved an update to the Master Plan for tourism ports. This initiative aims to build a more organic, modern, and extensive port network to leverage the region's coastline and transform maritime tourism into a strategic driver for economic and regional development.

As part of this process, the Regional Department of Territorial Government will launch a call for interest directed at local municipalities. This step is designed to collect proposals and specific needs from various territories to complete the first-level network and define a second-level network consisting of small ports, piers, and tourist landings. Vice President and Public Works Assessor Filippo Mancuso stated the goal is to strengthen nautical tourism by intercepting national and international flows and better utilizing Calabria's Mediterranean position.
