Assumption of Mary celebrations held in Slovenia and Croatia

In the Dravlje parish of Ljubljana, Slovenia, the Assumption of Mary was marked on 15 August with three masses (08:30, 10:00, 19:00) and a special mass at 19:00 to honor the 20th anniversary of priest Miran Žvanut's ordination. The following day, 16 August, Saint Roko’s feast featured hourly masses, a traditional market with local crafts, and a procession of fire‑fighters and a wind‑instrument orchestra.

In Croatia, a nine‑day novena began on 6 August ahead of the 15 August feast of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The devotional program calls for fasting, confession, and daily prayers, urging the faithful to deepen their faith and seek special grace during the period leading up to the holiday.
