Assurance Maladie launches digital paper form submission via Compte ameli
France’s national health insurance fund, Assurance Maladie, has launched a new digital service via the Compte ameli mobile application to streamline the submission of paper healthcare reimbursement forms. This feature allows insured individuals to photograph paper care sheets and upload them directly to their Caisse Primaire d’Assurance Maladie (CPAM), eliminating the need for physical mail or in-person drop-offs.
The service is designed for situations where medical practitioners cannot transmit data electronically, such as when a patient does not have their physical Carte Vitale. To ensure controlled implementation, the service is subject to specific restrictions: it applies only to handwritten sheets from general practitioners or specialists practicing outside of hospital settings, and the reimbursement amount must not exceed 100 euros. Additionally, users are limited to five digital submissions within any rolling 30-day period.
