AST Ascoli Picena reports surplus in primary care physician appointments

The AST Ascoli Picena health authority has reported a positive balance in the staffing of primary care physicians for the 2025/2026 period. According to Director General Antonello Maraldo, the number of new medical appointments has exceeded the number of cessations.

Specifically, the authority recorded 27 new appointments against 23 cessations, resulting in a surplus of four units. The distribution of these roles is balanced between the San Benedetto and Ascoli districts, with 13 new appointments in San Benedetto and 14 in Ascoli.

The new appointments include both permanent roles for doctors who have completed their training and temporary roles for those still in their three-year general medicine training programs.
