ASTA Launches Reporting Tool and Fast‑Track Certification for Travel Advisors
The American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA) introduced a new reporting platform that lets travel advisors flag supplier policies and industry practices that hinder competition, create liability, or restrict access to information. The tool expands ASTA’s existing hotel‑commission reporting program and will collect data on issues such as direct‑to‑consumer sales strategies, pricing inconsistencies, compensation policies and content restrictions.
ASTA also accelerated its Verified Travel Advisor (VTA) certification through a Fast‑Track pathway. The program, which requires members to meet sales‑volume thresholds and complete core coursework, enabled 122 advisors from Signature Travel Network to earn the VTA credential. Certified advisors are listed on the VeriVacation portal, giving travelers a searchable database of qualified professionals. ASTA President and CEO Zane Kerby said the new tool “gives our members a clear way to put harmful practices on our radar… to engage suppliers, inform the advisor community and determine where collective action is needed.”
