Astell&Kern announces CLARUS tri-hybrid 9-driver IEM

Astell&Kern, distributed by Ayuto, has announced the release of its fourth original in-ear monitor (IEM) model, named ‘CLARUS’. Scheduled for release on September 12, the product is priced at 462,000 yen.

The CLARUS features a tri-hybrid 9-driver configuration managed by a custom 6-way crossover network. The system includes a 9mm dynamic driver combined with Sonion dual balanced armature (BA) drivers for low frequencies, three Sonion BA drivers for mid-range, and a high-frequency hybrid system consisting of a silicon MEMS tweeter and Sonion dual BA drivers.

The housing is constructed from CNC-machined 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum with a silver anodized finish, designed with an ergonomic form for stability. The package includes a custom 4-core cable developed with Effect Audio and AZLA SednaEarfit SE2000 silicone ear tips.
