Asteras AKTOR appoints Gonçalo Feio as head coach
Asteras AKTOR has officially announced the appointment of 36-year-old Portuguese coach Gonçalo Feio. Feio has signed a contract that runs until the summer of 2029, succeeding Giorgos Antonopoulos.
Feio brings significant European experience to the Greek club, having previously worked in Poland, France, and Portugal. His notable roles include serving as head coach for Motor Lublin and Legia Warszawa, where he won the Polish Cup, as well as stints with Radomiak Radom and CD Tondela. He also previously served as an assistant coach at Xanthi in Greece.
Upon his arrival in Tripoli, Feio expressed enthusiasm for the club and the region, drawing parallels between the fighting spirit of historical figures like Theodoros Kolokotronis and the intense, sacrificial football philosophy he intends to implement. He is scheduled to lead his first training session on November 4, with his competitive debut expected on November 8 against Kalamata FC.
