Aston Martin delays first electric vehicle launch to 2033–2035

Aston Martin has once again delayed its transition to electric vehicles, with CEO Adrian Hallmark indicating that the launch of its first fully electric model could be pushed to a window between 2033 and 2035.

This marks several postponements for the British luxury automaker. Previous targets for the first electric model included 2025, 2027, and 2030. Hallmark described the company as “electric vehicle delayers” rather than deniers, noting that the decision is driven by shifting legislation and consumer demand.

By delaying the rollout, Aston Martin aims to reduce immediate investment in electric technology and avoid committing to systems that might quickly become obsolete. While the company maintains a partnership with Lucid Motors to access electric technology, the delay may allow Aston Martin to utilize more advanced versions of that technology in the future. In the interim, the manufacturer intends to continue producing V8 and V12 internal combustion engine models.
