Aston Martin plans further 2026 F1 upgrades amid performance woes

Aston Martin will bring a major package of upgrades to the Hungarian Grand Prix, hoping the changes will help the 2026 car reach Q2 and score points. The team also expects a revised Honda power‑unit to debut at the Dutch Grand Prix, which could improve the car’s competitiveness.

Team principal Adrian Newey expressed optimism about the upcoming parts, but operations director Mike Krack warned that their true impact cannot be known until they are run on track. He noted that any further development after these events will depend on the Formula 1 budget cap and the team’s resources.

The British outfit has struggled this season with the new Honda engine and chassis, falling behind rivals such as Cadillac. The forthcoming updates are seen as essential to halt the decline and potentially restore the team’s performance trajectory.
