Aston Martin struggles with performance at Monaco Grand Prix

Aston Martin's Formula 1 team entered the Monaco Grand Prix facing significant technical challenges. Team ambassador Pedro de la Rosa described the AMR26 as “too difficult to drive,” citing ongoing issues with vibration, gearbox reliability and the car’s chassis, which have hampered drivers Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll throughout the weekend.

Alonso echoed the concerns, stating there was “no chance of scoring points” given the current pace gap to the top ten cars and five leading teams. He highlighted persistent gearbox problems first seen in Miami and broader reliability shortfalls that have limited the car to short stints in earlier races. Both de la Rosa and Alonso expressed cautious optimism that upgrades planned for the summer could improve the car’s handling and competitiveness.

The team remains focused on addressing these deficiencies in the hope of delivering better performance later in the season.
