Aston Martin tests upgraded Honda engine ahead of Dutch Grand Prix

Aston Martin and Honda conducted the first on‑track test of their upgraded power unit at the Hungaroring. The new Honda RA626H engine, developed using two ADUO tokens, is expected to deliver roughly 30 extra horsepower and to have solved the vibration and oscillation issues that hampered the car earlier in the season. Test driver Jak Crawford completed about 200 km of running, gathering data on performance and reliability.

The team plans to introduce the upgraded unit at the upcoming Dutch Grand Prix in Zandvoort, hoping the extra power and improved stability will move the cars into the points‑scoring zone. Technical director Adrian Newey described the test as the first step of a broader development programme that will continue through the remaining races of the 2026 season.
