Aston Villa secured a 2-1 victory against Manchester City at Villa Park during the eighth round of the Premier League. Nicolas Jackson scored both goals for the home side, including an early opener in the sixth minute and a second in the 60th minute following an assist from substitute Ibrahim Mbaye.

Manchester City equalized through Erling Haaland, assisted by Iliman Ndiaye. The defeat marks Manchester City’s first loss of the league season. The win moves Aston Villa up to sixth place in the standings with 11 points.

Following the match, Aston Villa manager Unai Emery praised Jackson’s tactical development and improved finishing. Emery noted that while the striker faced adaptation challenges earlier in the season, he has demonstrated increased maturity, confidence, and efficiency in front of goal.
