Aston Villa intensifies pursuit of Mexico World Cup star Julian Quinones
Premier League club Aston Villa have stepped up contact with Mexican international Julian Quinones as they look to bolster their attack ahead of next season’s Champions League campaign. Quinones, 29, impressed at the 2026 World Cup with four goals and an assist in five matches and finished the Saudi Pro League season with 33 goals in 31 games for Al‑Qadsiah. Villa have not yet made a formal offer, and the player remains under contract for three more years.
The club value the striker at about €14 million, though a fee above €20 million is expected given recent market trends. Manager Unai Emery also seeks a midfielder after Amadou Onana’s ACL injury, while Villa’s recent Europa League win and fourth‑place Premier League finish have positioned them for a return to the Champions League.
