Aston Villa opens contract talks with Emiliano Buendia

Aston Villa has opened contract negotiations with Emiliano Buendia to reward the Argentine playmaker for his recent resurgence. Although Buendia is currently under contract until June 2027, the club holds an option to extend his stay by an additional year. Villa management reportedly intends to secure a new long-term agreement before his current deal enters its final 18 months.

Buendia, 29, has become a vital component of Unai Emery’s squad following a period where his future at the club was uncertain. After returning from a loan at Bayer Leverkusen and recovering from a serious knee injury, he has played a significant role in the club’s recent successes, including their Europa League winning campaign.
