Aston Villa rejects Arsenal's pursuit of Morgan Rogers

Aston Villa have made it clear they will not entertain offers for 23‑year‑old Morgan Rogers, despite reported interest from Premier League champions Arsenal. Rogers posted a breakout 2025‑26 season with 26 goal involvements, including 10 Premier League goals, helped Villa win the Europa League and secure Champions League qualification, and earned a place in England’s World Cup squad.

Villa cite a 20 % sell‑on clause and the need for a massive fee as barriers to any deal, insisting the club wants to retain its key attacking midfielder as it aims to cement a place among Europe’s elite. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, who spent £250 million on new signings last summer, has expressed a desire to add Rogers for his versatility – able to play centrally, on the left or right – to bolster the squad ahead of the upcoming season.
