Aston Villa sign Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea in record deal

Aston Villa has officially completed the signing of Senegalese striker Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea in a club-record deal. The transfer is reported to be worth an initial £47.5 million, with total fees potentially rising to £65 million or even €76 million including various performance-related bonuses.

Jackson, 25, has signed a five-year contract that runs until 2031. The move reunites him with manager Unai Emery, with whom he previously worked at Villarreal. Jackson arrives at Villa Park following a loan spell at Bayern Munich, where he won the Bundesliga and the DFB-Pokal.

He is expected to serve as a direct replacement for Ollie Watkins, who is nearing a completed transfer to the Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal for a reported fee of approximately £50 million. Jackson’s arrival follows a period of significant squad turnover at Aston Villa, which includes the departures of players such as Morgan Rogers, Ezri Konsa, and Youri Tielemans.
