Aston Villa targets Ukrainian and Japanese goalkeepers in summer transfer push

Aston Villa have emerged as a leading suitor for Benfica’s 24‑year‑old Ukrainian goalkeeper Anatoliy Trubin. The club is prepared to meet Benfica’s valuation of €20‑40 million and can promise regular Champions League football, which Villa will have after qualifying for the competition next season. Trubin has made nearly 150 appearances for the Portuguese side and kept 59 clean sheets, attracting interest from several Premier League teams.

Villa are also probing a move for 23‑year‑old Japanese keeper Zion Suzuki from Parma. With the future of current first‑choice keeper Emiliano Martínez uncertain, Villa see Suzuki as a long‑term successor. The club says it has the financial resources to secure the player and will offer the chance to play in Europe’s top club competition. Both targets reflect Villa’s ambition to strengthen the goalkeeper position ahead of the upcoming season.
