Astor Piazzolla cultural tributes launched in Faenza and Trani

Cultural initiatives honoring the Argentine composer Astor Piazzolla are taking place in Italy.

In Faenza, the Museo Internazionale delle Ceramiche (MIC) will host a presentation of the Italian version of the book ‘Astor Piazzolla. Una vita per la musica’ by Argentine anthropologist María Susana Azzi. The event includes a dialogue between Azzi and Rubén Andrés Costanzo regarding the legacy of the Nuevo Tango master. The evening will feature a live concert by the Silvio Zalambani 4to Tango ensemble, performing original works and collaborating with musicians from the Scuola Comunale di Musica ‘G. Sarti’.

In Trani, the Centro Culturale Lacarvella is launching a permanent photographic exhibition dedicated to Piazzolla. The initiative, led by Paco Francesco Cosentino and Antonio Russo, aims to create a lasting space for culture and memory to celebrate the life and career of the bandoneonist. The exhibition will be open Monday through Saturday, providing citizens and tourists with photographs and testimonies detailing how Piazzolla revolutionized tango.
