Morocco and Senegal hold talks on economic partnership and business law
Economic operators from Morocco and Senegal are convening in Dakar to discuss strengthening bilateral partnerships. The meeting, organized by the Moroccan Embassy in Senegal in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Dakar, focuses on the legal framework of OHADA (Organization for the Harmonization of Business Law in Africa) and the challenges of local content requirements.
The discussions aim to enhance business security and explore opportunities within the context of the ‘Senegal 2050 – National Transformation Agenda’. Participants will examine the 1964 establishment agreement between the two nations and seek to integrate businesses more effectively into regional value chains to promote South-South cooperation.
Separately, Senegal's Minister of Justice, Me Moussa Sarr, addressed the 5th Africa Business and Human Rights Forum in Dakar. He emphasized the need to make the right to a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment effective through judicial and non-judicial mechanisms, particularly regarding corporate responsibility in economic activities.
In a separate achievement for Senegalese entrepreneurship, Astou Sakho was named Miss International Entrepreneur 2026 at a ceremony in Paris, highlighting African female leadership and economic impact.
