Astra Honda Motor expands vocational training via Teaching Factory programs
PT Astra Honda Motor (AHM) and PT Mitra Pinasthika Mulia (MPM Honda Jatim) are expanding vocational education initiatives through the development of Pos AHASS Teaching Factory (TEFA) programs in vocational high schools (SMK).
AHM has established 32 Pos AHASS TEFA locations across 20 provinces to provide students in rural areas with professional hands-on experience in official workshops. This initiative aims to bridge the gap between education and industry requirements, providing over 1,000 students annually with access to internships and industry-standard training. Since 2010, AHM has partnered with 716 SMK schools, benefiting over 400,000 students.
In a recent expansion, MPM Honda Jatim inaugurated a Pos AHASS TEFA at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Kepanjen in Malang Regency. This facility integrates industrial work standards into the school environment, allowing students to perform real-world services such as periodic maintenance and spare part replacement under the guidance of professional mechanics. The program is designed to ensure students meet the technical and quality standards required by the automotive industry.
