Astra International expands community programs in Banyuwangi and Sukabumi

PT Astra International Tbk is expanding its Desa Sejahtera Astra program through cultural preservation and health initiatives in Indonesia.

In Banyuwangi, East Java, the company has broken ground on an amphitheater in Kemiren Village. Designed to hold approximately 150 people, the facility features a semi-circular stage inspired by traditional Osing house architecture. The project aims to provide a space for local performing arts, such as the Gandrung dance, to support cultural education and regional tourism.

In Sukabumi, West Java, Astra is supporting the GENTING movement to prevent stunting in Gedepangrango Village. The initiative involves nutritional interventions for toddlers and pregnant women, strengthening Posyandu services, and providing non-nutritional aid such as clean water and improved sanitation. The program was recently visited by the Deputy Minister of Population and Family Development, who highlighted the collaboration between the government and the private sector in addressing stunting.
