Astra International posts automotive and finance profit gains as overall earnings fall

PT Astra International Tbk reported that its automotive and financial services businesses posted higher net profits in the first half of 2026. Automotive net profit rose 9% to Rp5.9 trillion and the finance unit grew 6% to Rp4.6 trillion, supporting the group amid a decline in its mining‑solution and heavy‑equipment segments. Consolidated revenue fell 3% year‑on‑year to Rp157.9 trillion, and net profit before non‑recurring items dropped 7% to Rp14.9 trillion; after accounting for non‑recurring adjustments, net profit was Rp12.5 trillion. Vehicle sales increased 16% to 437 000 units, keeping Astra’s market share at 51%, while two‑wheel sales rose 1% to 3.1 million units.

Astra Credit Companies (ACC) said the opportunity to expand financing for productive sectors remains open. ACC’s productive‑sector loans made up 37% of its Rp23 trillion portfolio as of June 2026. The company plans to deepen partnerships, broaden access and tailor solutions, while the Financial Services Authority (OJK) noted a slight contraction in overall productive‑sector financing but expects the share to rise toward its 46‑48% target for 2026‑27.
