ASTRA Museum launches Horezu pottery exhibition circuit

The ASTRA Museum is launching the “Soarele din farfurie” (Sun in a Plate) exhibition circuit within its Pottery Sector. The exhibition features two pottery houses located in Horezu and Găleșoaia, designed to showcase the complete lifecycle of traditional pottery, from the extraction of clay to the final firing process.

Visitors can explore the potter's workshop, kiln, and living quarters, while observing traditional Horezu ceramic motifs such as the rooster, spiral, snake, and sun. The project is supported by extensive field research conducted in September across several villages, including Horezu, Olari, and Râmești, documenting the economic impact and current state of the craft through interviews with local artisans and residents.
