Astra launches education and stunting prevention programs in Indonesia

Astra International, through the Astra Michael D. Ruslim Education Foundation (YPA-MDR), has entered into a five-year partnership with the Banyuwangi Regency Government to support 10 elementary schools in the Glagah and Sempu districts. The program, titled “Bersama Berkarya untuk Pendidikan yang Berdampak,” focuses on integrating character and academic pillars to improve teacher and student competencies. Initial support includes the provision of laptops for the participating schools.

Separately, Astra is collaborating with the National Population and Family Planning Board (BKKBN) to combat stunting in Sukabumi, West Java. Through the “Gerakan Orang Tua Asuh Cegah Stunting” (GENTING) program, Astra is providing nutritional interventions and support to 674 families in Gedepangrango Village to improve maternal and child health.
