Astronomical events: Supernova SN 2026aaiv and Venus occultation

Recent astronomical observations have highlighted two distinct celestial events. In the NGC 7331 spiral galaxy, located approximately 45 million light-years away in the Pegasus constellation, a Type Ia supernova designated as SN 2026aaiv has been detected. This event, caused by the explosion of a white dwarf, has significantly brightened over several days and is visible to those with appropriate telescopic equipment.

Additionally, a rare daytime astronomical event is expected on September 14 in Hungary. A waxing crescent Moon will occult Venus, appearing low on the southeastern horizon at an altitude of approximately 10 degrees. The occultation is scheduled to begin at 11:30 and conclude at 12:44. While visibility may be challenged by daylight and potentially cloudy weather, the event offers a unique opportunity for observation.
