Astronomy events held in Poland feature meteorites and solar eclipse discussions
Various astronomical educational events have taken place in Poland, focusing on space phenomena and celestial objects.
In Kobylin, the Public Library hosted a Night of Libraries event with a cosmic theme. The program included a lecture by professional astronomer Jakub Tokarek, a doctoral student at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, who discussed astronomical records and the scale of the universe. A highlight of the event was the display of an authentic 8-kilogram meteorite. Additionally, a photography exhibition by Zdzisław Pauter featured images of the Moon, the Sun, and the aurora borealis.
Another upcoming event, titled ‘Train to the Stars: Eclipse Mission,’ is scheduled for July 24. Led by science journalist and astronomy popularizer Karol Wójcicki, the event focuses on the upcoming August solar eclipse. The program involves a journey on a vintage train route between Piaseczno Miasto and Runów, featuring a lecture by Wójcicki under the night sky and a campfire session to prepare participants for observing the eclipse.
