Marianela Palmero detained for concealment in Agostina Vega femicide
Marianela Soledad Palmero, the 29‑year‑old partner and mother of an 11‑year‑old daughter of Claudio Barrelier, was arrested in Córdoba on the order of prosecutor Raúl Garzón. She has been charged with aggravated concealment (double‑qualified) for allegedly helping hide evidence after the May 23‑24 2026 murder and dismemberment of 14‑year‑old Agostina Vega in a house on Juan del Campillo 800, barrio Cofico.
Forensic analysis linked her to the crime: a WhatsApp message she sent to Barrelier the night of the killing asked, “¿Qué fue ese grito?” ; acoustic peritajes indicated she could have heard the assault, and luminol tests revealed blood traces in the bathroom. Investigators say she was present in the home with her daughter during the homicide window and may have participated in cleaning the scene.
Palmero’s detention brings the total of people held in the case to four: primary suspect Claudio Barrelier (imputed for triple‑aggravated femicide and sexual assault), Osvaldo Fassetta and Soledad Andreani (both charged with aggravated concealment for facilitating the disposal of the body). All detainees remain incarcerated at the Bouwer prison pending further proceedings.
