Asturias allocates 15.78 million euros for building accessibility

The Principality of Asturias has approved a new line of subsidies totaling approximately 15.78 million euros to improve building accessibility. The funding is designated for 181 grants, primarily aimed at installing elevators in buildings that currently lack them.

Ovidio Zapico, the Counselor for Territory, Urbanism, Housing, and Citizen Rights, stated that the initiative will benefit roughly 2,500 homes. The measure is intended to support elderly residents and individuals with mobility difficulties, ensuring they can maintain autonomy within their own residences. This follows a previous allocation of 6.2 million euros for similar accessibility improvements.
