Asturias government allocates €2.42 million for student textbook loan aid

The Government of the Principality of Asturias approved 22,039 subsidies for textbook‑loan programmes in public schools for the 2026‑2027 academic year, totalling €2.42 million. Each eligible student will receive €110, an increase of €5 over the previous year, with funds transferred directly to schools to expand their loan collections of physical books, digital formats and centre‑produced materials.

The allocation also includes a separate €596,170 line for the purchase of textbooks and didactic resources, also paid at €110 per student. Aid for single‑parent families was expanded by about 125%, rising from 269 to 605 beneficiaries, following updated regional regulations on family status.

The decision was published in the Official Gazette of the Principality and on the Educastur portal, confirming the continued support for reading resources across Asturias.
