Asturias highlights cultural heritage in Taramundi and Tazones

The Asturias region of Spain offers diverse cultural and historical destinations, ranging from the inland traditions of Taramundi to the coastal heritage of Tazones.

Taramundi is characterized by its historical relationship with water and iron. The village features traditional mills, hydraulic systems, and the Ruta del Agua (PR-AS 17) hiking trail. The area is also known for its cutlery heritage, highlighted by the Museum of Traditional Cutlery and a monumental 7.20-meter knife located near the Casa Museo de la Cuchillería Tradicional.

Tazones, a small fishing village in the Villaviciosa municipality, is noted for its historical significance and natural features. In 1517, the future Emperor Charles V landed in the port due to adverse sea conditions. The village is also home to the Casa de las Conchas and a beach where dinosaur footprints, known as icnitas, can be observed during low tide as part of the Costa de los Dinosaurios.
