Various municipal infrastructure and public works projects in Spain

Several Spanish municipalities are implementing various infrastructure and public works projects. In León, the City Council has approved a contract for lighting the Puente Castro pump track, a 505-meter facility used for cycling, skating, and BMX.

In Asturias, the Ministry of Mobility has awarded over 1.4 million euros for the renovation of 11.4 kilometers of the Narcea corridor between Calabazos and Casares. This is part of a larger 80 million euro plan for the southwest region.

Other regional updates include:

• Llanes: Completion of a 65,000 euro pedestrian path renovation between Llanes and Cué. • Arroyo de la Encomienda: Awarding of a 2.6 million euro contract for a new Local Police headquarters. • Salamanca: Completion of the Würzburg park renovation, a nearly 1 million euro project funded partly by EU funds to combat heat islands. • Soria: Ongoing road improvements in the San Andrés and Dehesa de Soria areas involving over 750,000 euros in investment. • Valencia: Mayor María José Catalá has called for the creation of a metropolitan area to better coordinate services and emergency responses following the 2024 DANA event.
