Asturias President Adrián Barbón opens final legislative debate

Adrián Barbón, the President of Asturias, has opened the final political orientation debate of the current legislature in the Junta General. The three-day session serves as a comprehensive review of the regional government's management and sets the agenda for the final year of the mandate.

Key topics for discussion include the negotiation of the 2027 budgets, the reform of regional financing systems, infrastructure status, housing laws, and the future of the Huerna toll road. The debate also includes a vote on resolution proposals scheduled for Friday.

In his address, Barbón is expected to call for ‘democratic unity’ against ‘political violence,’ referencing recent incidents and the rise of far-right movements in Europe.
