Asturias tax campaigns report increased returns and savings
In the 2024 income‑tax (IRPF) campaign, Asturias’ regional deductions, dubbed the “Asturian fiscal route,” enabled over 107,600 taxpayers to save an average of €853, totaling €9.1 million—up €37.6 million from the previous year. Beneficiaries rose to 126,000, with major relief coming from child‑care and large‑family credits (€46 million), rental and home‑investment deductions (€25.3 million), youth expense relief (€12.6 million) and a €1.1 million grant for young adults up to 35.
The subsequent 2025 campaign closed with 604,424 tax returns, 24,109 more than the year before (a 4.16% rise). The tax authority refunded €271.18 million to 316,067 Asturian taxpayers, marking an 8.23% increase in the number of refunds and a 7.56% rise in total amount. The “Renta Directa” service was the most popular filing option, chosen by millions of taxpayers nationwide, surpassing the mobile app and assisted filing channels.
