Astute Group partners with REYAX to ease IoT module memory shortages
Astute Group has signed a new franchise agreement with REYAX Technology, giving customers an alternative source for wireless connectivity components across Europe, Asia‑Pacific, the Middle East and the Americas. REYAX’s portfolio includes LoRa, LoRaWAN, Bluetooth Low Energy, Wi‑Fi, cellular, NB‑IoT, NFC, RFID, GNSS, ultra‑wideband and related development tools.
The partnership is aimed at mitigating the impact of a growing LPDDR4 memory shortage that is raising costs and lead times for high‑end cellular IoT modules. Analysts note that memory manufacturers are shifting capacity to high‑bandwidth AI server memory, leaving older LPDDR4 production constrained and driving DRAM prices up sharply. By offering a broader range of module technologies, Astute hopes customers can redesign or diversify away from single‑supplier dependence, reducing exposure to the memory bottleneck.
Astute advises customers to review designs for exposure to the shortage, check existing stock and consider REYAX modules as a second route, while acknowledging that any change may require adjustments to footprints, firmware, certifications and regulatory approvals.
