Asugi and Italian Police partner to secure healthcare cybersecurity

The Azienda Sanitaria Universitaria Giuliano Isontina (Asugi) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Italian State Police to strengthen the cybersecurity of healthcare systems in the Trieste region.

Signed in Trieste by Asugi Director General Antonio Poggiana and Michela Sambuchi of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Cyber Security Operations Center, the agreement establishes a direct link between healthcare expertise and the specialized capabilities of the Postal and Cyber Security Police. The partnership focuses on protecting digital infrastructures, ensuring service continuity, and safeguarding sensitive medical and personal data, such as clinical records and administrative systems.

The protocol includes structured collaboration through information sharing regarding cyber threats, the adoption of common operating procedures, and immediate communication during crisis situations. Additionally, the agreement facilitates the rapid exchange of reports on vulnerabilities and incidents, alongside joint training activities for personnel to enhance prevention and response capabilities.
