Asuka takes hiatus from WWE to attend to personal matters in Japan

WWE wrestler Asuka is currently on a hiatus from television due to personal matters that required her to return to Japan. Reports from Fightful Select indicate that while WWE had planned to utilize the former Women’s Champion throughout the year, company officials were understanding of her decision to travel home.

Asuka has addressed speculation regarding her status with the company, stating on social media, “I haven’t left the team. I haven’t quit.” Her absence follows an emotional moment on Monday Night Raw earlier this year after her match against IYO SKY at Backlash. There is currently no confirmed timeline for her return to WWE programming.
