Asuransi Astra launches digital innovations and maintains travel insurance growth
Asuransi Astra is implementing new digital innovations and strategic adjustments to maintain growth as it approaches its 70th anniversary. The company has launched three integrated services—myGarda, gardaoto.com, and Garda Siaga—to streamline the insurance experience. The myGarda application now consolidates over 20 services, including emergency requests, claim submissions, and outpatient control requests, into a single platform.
To enhance vehicle protection services, gardaoto.com has integrated Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology, allowing customers to automate data entry by simply uploading their ID (KTP) and vehicle registration (STNK). Additionally, a Virtual Survey feature enables remote vehicle inspections, with updates provided via WhatsApp.
Regarding its travel insurance product, Garda Trip, the company reports positive performance with annual premiums ranging between Rp500 million and Rp750 million. Despite risks from natural disasters such as volcanic eruptions, which can cause travel delays or cancellations, Asuransi Astra is utilizing pop-up notifications to warn customers of active disasters. The company plans to adjust sales locations based on disaster risk zones to mitigate future disputes while continuing to offer medical coverage for accidents and illnesses during travel.
