ASUS and Gigabyte raise RTX 5090 prices after order cancellation
ASUS cancelled a Reddit user’s order for an RTX 5090 graphics card that had been paid for at roughly $4,600, then listed the same model at about $4,982 – a price increase of nearly $500. Nvidia confirmed the cancellation, saying ASUS could not supply the GPU at the original price. At the same time, both ASUS and Gigabyte announced broader price hikes across the entire RTX 50 series, adding $592‑$666 to the RTX 5090 and raising costs for the RTX 5080, RTX 5070 Ti, RTX 5060 Ti and even entry‑level RTX 3050/3060 cards. The companies cited ongoing DRAM and NAND shortages and rising component costs. AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9060 XT cards sold by ASUS also saw price revisions. These moves push the RTX 5090 to nearly 2.5 times Nvidia’s $1,999 Founders Edition launch price, highlighting the continued inflation in the GPU market.
