ASUS launches ROG XREAL R1 240 Hz gaming glasses in Italy

ASUS Republic of Gamers, in partnership with XR hardware firm XREAL, announced the global distribution details of the ROG XREAL R1 gaming glasses. The device, first shown at CES 2026, will be sold in Italy from the second half of June 2026 at a recommended price of €849, inclusive of VAT, through ASUS direct channels and partner retailers.

The glasses feature a micro‑OLED panel with a 240 Hz refresh rate and 0.01 ms response time, delivering a virtual screen equivalent to a 171‑inch diagonal and a 57° field of view that covers 95% of the user’s vision. Electrochromic lenses adjust transparency automatically based on head movement, with three manual dimming levels. A dedicated XREAL X1 chip provides native 3DoF motion tracking, supporting “Anchor” and “Follow” display modes, while Bose‑engineered audio creates a three‑dimensional soundscape. The system works plug‑and‑play with the ROG Ally handheld console and can also connect to PCs via the ROG Control Dock and ASUS DisplayWidget Center software.
