ASUS launches ROG Xreal R1 240‑Hz gaming AR headset in Germany, Austria and Switzerland

ASUS and XREAL introduced the ROG Xreal R1, a portable gaming AR headset that creates a virtual 171‑inch display using two Sony micro‑OLED panels. The device runs at up to 240 Hz with a 0.01 ms response time, 700 nits peak brightness, a 57‑degree field of view covering about 95 % of the focused visual area, and supports 3DoF tracking, Anchor mode and 2D‑to‑3D conversion. Integrated Bose speakers provide spatial audio, and electro‑chromic lenses adjust tint automatically.

The headset is sold in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, with an official retail price of €919 while retailers list it around €850‑€849. Two versions are offered with different interpupillary distance ranges (57‑66 mm or 66‑75 mm). It connects via USB‑C to PCs, consoles, handhelds and smartphones, and can be used with the ROG Control Dock for stationary setups. Availability began on 23 June 2026 in the DACH region.
