ASUS launches UGen300 series edge AI accelerators
ASUS Japan has announced the release of the ASUS UGen300 series and the UGen200 edge AI accelerators, scheduled for sale on October 16. The UGen300 series utilizes the Hailo-10H chipset to provide up to 40 TOPS of inference performance. Combined with 2GB or 8GB of LPDDR4/4X memory, these devices enable the local processing of Large Language Models (LLM), Vision Language Models (VLM), and Whisper-based speech recognition without relying on cloud services.
The product lineup includes a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C model (S-UGEN300-8GLD4-TC) for easy integration with existing PCs, as well as M.2 2280 slot models (UGEN300-8GLD4-M2 and UGEN300-2GLD4X-M2) for industrial PCs and single-board computers.
Additionally, the entry-level UGen200-640KSR-M2 features the Hailo-8L chipset, offering up to 13 TOPS for tasks such as object detection, image classification, and person tracking. Designed for low power consumption—2.5W for the UGen300 series and 1.5W for the UGen200—these accelerators are suitable for fanless enclosures, battery-operated devices, and 24-hour continuous operation. The series supports Windows, Linux, and Android across x86 and ARM architectures.
