Generation Z is reshaping the workplace through AI and technology demands
A study conducted by Ipsos-Doxa for Asus, surveying 400 Italian managers, reveals that Generation Z is reshaping workplace dynamics through a demand for advanced technology and flexibility. Approximately 47% of managers—a figure exceeding 50% in large corporations—acknowledge that young employees possess a fundamentally different approach to work, prioritizing personal values, rapid growth, well-being, and sustainability.
Technology is a critical requirement for this demographic. The research indicates that 68% of managers believe Gen Z expects office software and Artificial Intelligence capabilities to be as powerful and seamless as the tools they use on their personal smartphones. Furthermore, 64% of respondents noted that outdated or low-performance hardware significantly diminishes the motivation and productivity of younger staff.
Beyond technology, Gen Z employees are characterized by their digital native status, openness to diversity and inclusion (33%), and environmental awareness (25%). They tend to resist repetitive tasks and rigid office schedules. To address these shifts, Asus highlighted its proprietary software, Asus MyExpert, designed to optimize AI tasks such as document summarization and translation to bridge the generational gap in the workplace.
