ASUS ROG and XREAL launch 240 Hz gaming AR glasses ROG XREAL R1

ASUS's Republic of Gamers (ROG) brand and AR glasses maker XREAL have begun taking reservations for their joint gaming AR headset, the ROG XREAL R1. The device ships with a Sony‑made micro‑OLED panel delivering full‑HD resolution per eye, a 240 Hz refresh rate, 0.01 ms response time and a 3 ms motion‑to‑photon latency, aimed at fast‑paced FPS and racing titles. It projects a virtual screen up to 4 m away that appears as a 171‑inch display, offers a 57° field of view and features auto‑dimming electronic lenses, Bose‑tuned speakers and a noise‑reducing microphone.

Connectivity is handled through a single USB‑Type‑C cable supporting DisplayPort Alternate Mode, with an optional ROG Control Dock for HDMI and DisplayPort inputs. The lightweight headset (about 91 g) weighs 54 g less than many competitors and includes a 6‑DoF camera accessory. Reservations start on 15 June 2026 with a price of ¥141,550, and a limited pre‑order campaign offers accessories such as the XREAL Eye camera, a ROG KERIS II ACE mouse and a furniture‑brand discount coupon.
