ASUS Republic of Gamers has launched the ROG Gjallar, its first gaming soundbar, priced at approximately $599.99. The system is designed as a desktop audio solution for gamers who prefer not to use headsets for all media consumption.

The hardware features a 5.1.2-channel speaker layout with dedicated up-firing drivers to support Dolby Atmos, aiming to provide immersive spatial audio for in-game movement and environmental effects. The package includes a wireless 6.5-inch 65W subwoofer and a desktop audio control box. It also supports HDMI 2.1 with eARC, allowing for 4K at 120Hz pass-through.

Initial reviews note the sound quality is strong for a soundbar, but criticize the design as boxy and unappealing. Other reported drawbacks include a lack of customization for the audio control hub, the inability to adjust subwoofer levels without software, and ineffective built-in microphones.
