ASUS ROG Strix G18 gaming laptop features RTX 50-series GPUs and local AI

ASUS has introduced the 2026 ROG Strix G18 (G815) gaming laptop, designed as a high-performance alternative to desktop PCs. The device features an 18-inch 2.5K 240Hz Nebula HDR Mini LED panel with over 2,000 local dimming zones.

Hardware configurations include Intel Core Ultra 9 HX series processors and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50-series GPUs, with the top-tier model featuring an RTX 5080 with a 175W TGP. The laptop also introduces the ‘Armor EdgeAI’ suite for local, privacy-focused AI inference and agent tasks without requiring an internet connection.

For maintenance, the laptop utilizes a tool-less design for the bottom cover and a ‘Q-Latch’ mechanism for easy SSD upgrades. The cooling system has been redesigned to move exhaust ports to the rear of the hinge, preventing heat from affecting the user's mouse hand, and utilizes a large vapor chamber with liquid metal thermal interface material.
