Asus ROG Strix Scar 18 gaming laptop unveiled with 18‑inch 4K 240 Hz ELMB display
Asus announced the upcoming ROG Strix Scar 18 ahead of Computex 2026. The laptop features an 18‑inch Mini‑LED panel with a 4K resolution, 240 Hz refresh rate, up to 1 600 nits peak brightness in HDR and a proprietary Extreme Low Motion Blur (ELMB) technology that refreshes rows of pixels rapidly, reducing motion blur without black‑frame insertion.
The device is powered by a 24‑core Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX CPU, an RTX 5090 laptop GPU, 128 GB of RAM and a 4 TB SSD. Asus has not released pricing, but the high‑spec configuration suggests a premium cost. In testing, the laptop delivered around 45 fps in Cyberpunk 2077 at 4K Ultra settings with ray tracing on, rising to roughly 70 fps with DLSS Ultra Performance, while less demanding titles such as Counter‑Strike 2 ran at 180‑200 fps. The combination of the ELMB display and top‑tier hardware aims to provide exceptionally sharp, blur‑free visuals for fast‑action and esports titles.
