Asus to release standalone Xbox Ally X20 OLED handheld

Asus announced it will sell a standalone version of its OLED ROG Xbox Ally X20 handheld, reversing an earlier plan that required the device to be bundled with Xreal AR glasses. The company said it is "actively discussing the release schedule for a standalone version of the new Ally" and will provide further details later.

The X20 retains the 7.4‑inch anti‑glare OLED screen of the previous model and adds new rubberized grips, a transforming D‑pad that can switch between eight‑way and four‑way modes, quieter face buttons and a reworked cooling system. Pricing and a launch date have not been disclosed, but analysts expect the standalone unit to cost more than the current $1,000 Xbox Ally X, while a bundle with the AR glasses could approach $2,000.
