ASUS unveils RTX 5080‑powered Zephyrus G16 laptop with higher price tag

ASUS has introduced a new Zephyrus G16 (2026) laptop equipped with Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 5080 GPU and Intel’s Core Ultra 9 386H (Panther Lake) processor. In the US it is priced at $4,799, which is $200 more than the older model that shipped with an RTX 5090 and the same 64 GB of RAM. The device ships with 64 GB of RAM, a 16‑GB VRAM GPU that can draw up to 160 W, and a 16‑inch OLED display offering a 240 Hz refresh rate, HDR support and up to 1,100 nits peak brightness. It weighs 4.2 lb, provides up to 14.5 hours of video playback, and is available in platinum white and eclipse gray. Reviewers note that the slim chassis limits thermal headroom, reducing the GPU’s maximum performance, and that the RAM is soldered with no Thunderbolt 5 support.
