Aswan Governor addresses population issues and honors local achievers

The Governor of Aswan, Amr Lashin, participated in several regional activities focused on human development and community recognition. During a Population Day event at Aswan University, Lashin emphasized that population growth is a national challenge tied to the country's future and development. He noted that addressing population dynamics is a priority under the ‘Aswan 2040’ strategy, which aims to improve quality of life and human capital through integrated efforts between health institutions, universities, and executive agencies.

As part of the Population Day festivities, a walking marathon was launched with approximately 500 young participants from Aswan University and local youth centers to promote healthy lifestyles.

Additionally, Governor Lashin held ceremonies to honor local achievers. He recognized Mahmoud Selim, an Egyptian national team athlete, for winning a bronze medal in the 1500m steeplechase at the Arab Athletics Championship for under-16s. He also personally received Renad Mahmoud at his office to celebrate her achieving first place in the preparatory certificate exams.
