Aswan Governor Amr Lashin Leads Population, Equality and Market Oversight
Governor Amr Lashin of Aswan is supervising the regional population council’s new plan aimed at improving demographic indicators. The initiative targets a fertility rate of 2.1 children per woman by 2027, expands use of long‑acting contraceptives and includes community visits, seminars and training for social‑service students.
He is also monitoring the Equal Opportunity Unit’s programs that provide workshops, training and exhibitions for women, youth and persons with disabilities, promoting economic inclusion and political participation.
In parallel, the governor has intensified inspections of municipal bakeries and markets across the governorate. Between 19 and 25 June, 192 supply‑related violations were recorded – 178 at bakeries and 14 at markets – to ensure food quality, price stability and compliance with regulations.
